The Etiwanda School District began pre-registering kindergarten students for the 2013/2014 school year at each of our elementary school sites on: Wednesday, February 13, 2013 beginning at 9:00.a.m.

The following items are required to complete your child's registration (this information applies to kindergarten as well as new students in all other grade levels):
 

  1. A certified birth certificate

  2. Immunization record

  3. Proof of residency - Present two items from the following list below (originals only):

• Gas, electric, water, disposal bill, telephone bill, cable bill
• Escrow papers (need certified original closing documents - must be followed up with utility bills within 30 days)
• Homeowners/renters insurance policy,
• W-2 form (from most current tax year)

Your child must be five years of age on or before October 1, 2013 to begin Kindergarten in August 2013.

Option - If your child turns five years of age between July 1 and December 1, 2013, he/she is eligible for a two year kindergarten program. Please ask the school clerk or refer to the chart and link below for more information on Transitional Kindergarten.

Please Note:

Children entering kindergarten are required to have following immunizations:  

Polio
(OPV and/or IVP)

DTP (DTaP/DT/Td)(Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis)

MMR
(Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

Hepatitis B

Varicella(chicken pox)

3 if one given after the 4th birthday (+) OR 4 maximum regardless of when given

4 if one given after the 4th birthday (+) OR 5 maximum regardless of when given

2 doses of Measles and 1 dose of Mumps, 1 dose of Rubella ALL must be given on or after the 1st birthday (+)

3 doses

One dose required OR documentation of the disease by the physicians office

(+) Grace period of 1 – 4 days allowed.

Students will not be placed in classes unless their immunization requirements are up-to-date.

State Requirements:

California law, Education Code Section 49452.8, now requires that your child have an oral health assessment (dental check-up) by May 31 in either kindergarten or first grade, whichever is his or her first year in public school.

Escrow Note: If you are in escrow on a home within the Etiwanda School District and would like your child to attend the school of residency for your new address, you must submit an inter or intra district transfer and provide escrow papers, with the estimated closing date, to the CWA Department at Etiwanda School District office – 803-3138.
