Windrows Elementary School |
Message From the PrincipalDear Parents, Welcome back to another wonderful year at Windrows Elementary School. Windrows Elementary will be your child’s "Passport to Learning" this school year with the travel theme. We are very proud of our school and the relationship we have with our wonderful parents and community. It is with a team effort that Windrows has become such a fabulous place for students to learn and grow. Our school has a tradition of high performance, and we will continue to raise the bar and meet our goals. Last year our school’s test scores ranked over the 90th percentile in comparison to similar schools in all of California. Our 2008-2009 API of 875 set a school record. May’s 2009-2010 test results have just come in and appear to have reached record highs once again. Individual student reports will be sent home in the coming weeks. Congratulations to our wonderful students! State budget cuts will cause us to tighten our belts quite a bit this year. For this reason, classes will be created with a high enrollment. After school begins and we are certain of the number of students that will be attending, some changes may be necessary. Back-To-School-Night will be held on Thursday, Sept 2 at 6:00. This is three weeks later than usual and allows time for classes to settle. During this time, you will learn about the challenging academic curriculum, behavioral expectations, and other motivating activities that your child will participate in throughout the year. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the school, your child, or our academic program, please feel free to contact me at 899-2641. I look forward to another fabulous year of fun and learning. Sincerely, Josh Lautenslager Principal |
