High five to Ernesto! Ernesto is rocking 2nd grade at Solorio Elementary in Ms. Morrison’s class! Since the start of the year, Ernie has worked so hard, earning excellent grades and making steady progress on his iReady scores. But that’s not all—he’s also a kind friend who always greets his classmates with a cheerful “good morning!” Way to go, Ernie! We’re so proud of you!


Tech in the Classroom Mrs. Emily Gryte is transforming learning with the Doceri Interactive Whiteboard! This amazing tool allows her to connect with her students effortlessly. With iPad mobility, she’s no longer tied to a computer or whiteboard, making lessons more dynamic and engaging. Way to embrace technology for a better classroom experience, Mrs. Gryte!

February 3-7 is School Counseling Week, and we’re recognizing the amazing work of our Clinical Counselors, School Counselors, ERMHS specialists, CARES Interns, and our Counseling Program Supervisor! A big shoutout to Caryn Elementary for being recognized by the Rancho Cucamonga Community & Arts Foundation (RCCAAF)! The Community Arts Grant is making a huge impact by supporting local arts programs, and one standout initiative is Caryn’s after-school drama program, where creativity takes center stage! Led by the talented Misty Cooper, this program provides students with an incredible opportunity to shine, and she does an amazing and professional job guiding them.

Grapeland Elementary PTA is giving a high five to Grapeland AAPEAC, led by the amazing Nicole Edun, for hosting a fantastic Family Movie Night! They made the event both fun and educational by choosing Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse—a perfect film showcasing diversity in culture, race, and even characters from different time periods.
To top it off, they highlighted real-life African American heroes who have made a lasting impact on the world. It was a truly inspiring and enjoyable evening!


A huge shoutout to Mrs. Sepe, our incredible Kindergarten SDC teacher, and Mr. Isaiah, one of our amazing one-on-one aides at Grapeland Elementary! Their dedication and hard work make such a difference in the lives of their kinder students, helping them reach their goals every day. Grapeland is so lucky to have them!


Tonight at our district board meeting, we recognized our Custodians for their hard work and dedication to keeping our schools clean, safe, and welcoming. Their commitment to our schools and students does not go unnoticed—we appreciate all they do every day! A special thank you to the administrators who came out to help honor them as well.

Student Success Spotlight Meet Nick from Caryn Elementary! Just last year, Nick arrived in the United States without knowing any English. Through hard work, determination, and the support of his teachers and friends, he’s made incredible progress in mastering the language. Now, Nick is paying it forward by helping his teacher translate for a new student. He comes to school every day with a big smile and a positive outlook, inspiring everyone around him.


STEAM at Caryn Elementary was a blast! Students worked on a STEAM project where they made boats out of foil and tested how many pennies they could load onto the boat before it sank. A great way to mix creativity with science!


Our Grapeland Grizzlies are spreading kindness in the most meaningful way! We are incredibly proud of our Grapeland families for their generosity in supporting those affected by the Eaton fires and our heroic first responders. A heartfelt thank-you to their amazing PTA for organizing this impactful drive and delivering donations to Altadena. Together, we’re making a difference!

A special shout-out to our top winners—Summer from Caryn Elementary took 1st place, Rainier from Etiwanda Intermediate earned 2nd place, and Varish and Vivian, both from Day Creek Intermediate, tied for 3rd. We’re excited to see them take on the next steps!
